About my imaging site: Harahan is located on the bank of the Mississippi River a few miles upstream of New
Orleans, Louisiana (U.S.A.). The Superdome is seven miles away. My skies are Bortle Class 8 (City
Sky -White). The huge river reduces the local lighting just a little. My site lands squarely in the white area
of the attached light pollution map. Imaging would seem hopeless here, but I work around it using filters and staying aimed near the zenith.
For more on light pollution, please visit the International Dark-Sky Association website. Do what you can to save our skies!
Technical Note: If S.T.A.R. 2000 guiding is shown for an image, the actual capture time is twice the exposure
time shown.
